Fly Fishing

Stream FishingThe Ebor/Dorrigo Plateau is well known for having some of the best trout waters in Australia. Anglers will find the fighting qualities of our fresh water trout both challenging and enjoyable. When visiting the neighbouring trout hatchery you can view wild trout weighing up to 3.5 kgs. Let our experienced guides take you out for the day and teach you the art of fly fishing (all equipment provided).

Fishing Note – Only guests residing in the Lodge may fish the river that the Lodge overlooks. This river is strictly fly fishing only and catch and release. Guests may fish other rivers in the area if they wish to spin fish or keep the trout for consumption. The Lodge has been built to accommodate the sport of fly fishing. Keen anglers will find the Lodge highly suitable for their fly fishing activities.

Bush Walking

In the nearby World Heritage Listed New England National Park, there are over 20 kilometres of graded walking tracks through splendid beech forest and sweeping vistas of the eastern escarpment. In total there are 6 National Parks within a half hour drive of the Lodge with Cathedral Rocks National Park within 20 minutes drive.

Other Activities – The base of the waterfalls provide some lovely swimming holes for the summer months. Helicopter joy flights can also be arranged.

For the less active, there is always that good book, a comfy chair and the wood fire. The nearby towns of Dorrigo and Bellingen make for a scenic drive down the mountain where art and craft shops and English style cafes ensure a pleasant day out.
